As you may be aware, CALA undertook an extensive programme of community consultation in 2011, which included six community consultation events, two in April, two in July and two in September. The events provided you with the opportunity to help shape these exciting plans, allowing you to see the proposals evolving. Since the third event in September last year, the team has undertaken a full analysis of all comments received, as well as further technical work to support the proposals, and a planning application has now been submitted to Woking Borough Council.
This website will provide you with an overview of changes that have been made since the event in September, full details of the submitted proposals, and responses to some of the common concerns following the third event.
You might be aware that the Executive, acting for Woking Borough Council as landowner of the majority of the site, discussed CALA's proposals in December. The meeting was arranged, publicised and held by Woking Borough Council; representatives from CALA and its consultant team attended to answer questions only. At the meeting in December, the Executive resolved to allow CALA to submit a planning application, based on evidence submitted. However, it is important to note that the role of the Executive was entirely separate from the role of the Planning Committee, which will determine the application in due course.
