A new gateway building for Southampton, including student accomodation, healthcare and retail facilities

Artists impression of the new student accomodation.

The ground floor of the building will include new healthcare facilities alongside a new Cooperative food store.

The resubmitted application doesn't vary the development details, rather a clause in the parking restrictions to bring it in line with the other managed halls in Southampton University's control.
Bouygues Development, the property arm of Bouygues in the UK, has been working to deliver the proposals for a new landmark student accommodation building on the junction of Stoneham Way and Thomas Lewis Way in Swaythling since planning permission was granted by Southampton City Council in September last year.
This website aims to provide you with an update on the project including information on the resubmission of the application to the council, which involves amending one of the restrictions placed on the development to allow the eventual end operator, the University of Southampton, to take on the hall and manage it in line with its other halls across Southampton.
Information is provided on the following pages and in addition you are invited to attend a public exhibition of the scheme on Wednesday 18th January from 4pm until 8pm at the Swaythling Neighbourhood Centre, Broadlands Road, Southampton.
We hope to see you there.
